Now that the Xuan Sect has the backing of one of the strongest cultivators from the Upper Realm, who cares about Dan Biqing!  Sooner or later, he and those other alchemists will have to rely on the Xuan Sect instead!

Xuan Qi makes up his mind, locking onto Liu Feizhou with his Divine Sense. He goes to slap Liu Feizhou with a palm strike.

But just then, a tiger roars. There’s a white tiger with wings on its back, and it stands in front of Liu Feizhou. At the same time, Bai Chengyu stabs at that palm with a pike, and Wang Ningxi opens an oiled paper umbrella. All of them meet that palm.

Xiao Budian has already passed out.

Su Tingyun carefully wraps him in Big Bai’s skin. She doesn’t dare to put Xiao Budian into the jade bracelet, because she doesn’t know if it would kill him. There are mountains and waters in the Space within the jade bracelet, but there is no living person stored in it. When Li Xinmei’s physical body was inside, her primordial spirit was out of the body. The reason why Su Tingyun’s soul was able to enter and possess that body was because she is the owner of the jade bracelet.

She doesn’t know what would happen to Xiao Budian after she puts him in, nor does she dare to consider how Xiao Budian could come out if she happens to die.

So all she can use is Big Bai’s hide. Big Bai’s skin can definitely protect him well.

Su Tingyun is the last one to go out. Once she’s out, she’s gripping the Springwater Sword tightly in her hand.

Because the white tiger has rushed to the front, it takes most of the attack. Its body is hit hard, sending it flying. The white fur is instantly dyed red with blood, and as it falls to the ground, it’s uncertain if it’s still alive.

Wang Ningxi only has time to yell “Meow-Meow!”, as her umbrella is smashed into pieces by that palm wind, and she herself is thrown down, the strong force slamming her against a wall. She coughs out a mouthful of blood.

She falls at the entrance of Rain Alley, where in one of the cracks among the collapsed buildings, there’s a red glow.

The Jade Maiden stares blankly at the huge, winged white tiger. She is stunned for a while, then her eyes fall on Wang Ningxi again.

This female cultivator is more than three hundred years old, and her cultivation talents can only be regarded as average. She has willowy eyebrows, almond-shaped eyes, a gentle and warm temperament, and a simple dressing. But these can’t conceal her natural grace, like a perfectly round pearl softly glowing.

She’s like-, like herself. A long, long time ago. No one is born a demon, she herself strayed from the Righteous Path.

    She never regretted it.

But at this moment, the Jade Maiden freezes in place. She thought that baby girl was dead.

Outside the Rain Alley, the battle continues.

Bai Chengyu’s shot comes with the howling of wolves, thousands of wolves surging and roaring, charging towards Xuan Qi who is standing at the city gate.

Xuan Qi’s complexion changes slightly. He operates his spiritual energy, and slashes at the pack of wolves. He then rises to the air, avoiding the power behind the shot.

“There is still a peak Nascent Soul cultivator hiding, and the power of a single attack has the strength of a Tribulation Transcendent.”

“That weapon of yours already has a soul, good enough to feed my Demon-Slaying Knife!” He slashes out, and the entire Jinxiu City is split in half. A deep ravine appears from the city’s stone pavement, like a heavenly moat so deep that one can’t see the bottom.

Thousands of sword lights attack Bai Chengyu from all directions. Although his gun has a spirit, the handle is still made of wood, and it breaks in an instant. The sword lights graze his neck.

Su Tingyun has yet to start training in swordsmanship.

She recklessly stabs her Springwater Sword in front of her, and when it hits a sword light, a red light appears on the tip of the sword. Then there is a loud sound of an explosion, her hand holding the sword immediately suffers a fracture, and her group is also separated far from each other. She spurts out blood from her mouth, and the green long sword is dyed red.

The gap in strength is too great. With just one clash, she is completely unable to hold on. Just the residual power behind that knife makes her whole body feel as if she had been run over by a wheel.

The Springwater Sword remains fully unscathed, but she could no longer hold it.

Bai Chengyu is still desperately struggling, on the defensive, but Xuan Qi is originally a mid-to-late stage Tribulation Transcendent. Now that he has received guidance from a cultivator of the Upper Realm, his cultivation level has improved rapidly. How can Bai Chengyu be his opponent? Bai Chengyu is covered in cuts and bruises, and soon he will be split in half in by that knife…

Liu Feizhou is cold all over.

He made a mistake in the past, and he harbored demons in his heart.

But this time, he is wrong again.

Liu Feizhou flies high into the sky, holding a jade tablet in his hand, “I am Liu Feizhou, a direct disciple of Ancestor Dan, and my master has lit a Heart’s Blood Soul Lamp for me. If I die here, even if you have an isolation barrier, the image of the events before my death will still be transmitted back in my Master’s mind, he will know that the one who slaughtered the city was not the female demon.”

“The whole world will know that it was not the demon who massacred this city!”

“And this place, it is Jinxiu City!”

This is the Jinxiu City under the protection of Dan Biqing. If the Alchemy Ancestor knew that he was the one who wiped out the city, Master Dan would not let him off easily.

“None of us know who you are, please show mercy and spare the innocent.”

Under the pressure of a Tribulation Transcendent cultivator, Liu Feizhou is shaking. It’s as if his bones are getting crushed. But he stands tall in the air. At this moment, in the eyes of many, he is their only savior.

    The attacks suddenly stop.

The whole city is as silent as a grave.

The survivors look at the man in the sky, their eyes full of hope for survival, their vision blurry with tears. But under the might of a Tribulation Transcendent practitioner, no one could weep out loud.

After a while, the indistinct figure at the city gate chuckles, “I’ve already laid out an inescapable net, and the Demonic Path’s Jade Maiden is doomed to die. But I didn’t expect that there are really hidden dragons and crouching tigers in this Jinxiu City.”

“Dan Biqing’s personal disciple? Someone he lit a Soul Lamp for, what a pity, what a pity indeed.” The voice sighs with a clicking of a tongue, clearly implying that he regrets he couldn’t slaughter the city and kill the demon. But the way he says it makes Liu Feizhou feel cold all over, a bad premonition welling up in his heart.

They don’t even know who this Tribulation Transcendent is, but Dan Biqing has a very high status in both the Righteous and the Demonic Paths. As a favored personal disciple, one whom his Master has lit a Soul Lamp for, anyone is likely to show him some special treatment regardless of whether they are from a Righteous or Demonic faction. That’s why Liu Feizhou said he’s seventy percent sure he could put a stop to this. But now, he seems to be inside that thirty percent chance that spells certain death.

“If I leave? That demon will heal her wounds. Then, could the cultivators in Jinxiu City still be saved?” Xuan Qi smiles, “Even if I offend Ancestor Dan because of this, I must eradicate those of the Demonic Path.”

“I accidentally killed his disciple when I was hunting the demon, and I believe that all my fellow Righteous Path cultivators under heaven will understand.” After he’s done talking, he takes a step forward, “Liu Feizhou, you’re already a sixth-rank alchemist at such a young age. It’s a pity that you have bad luck and just happened to be in Jinxiu City, hahaha…”

If it was in the past, he may have shown mercy because of this. But if one’s heart is not resolute, it is difficult to accomplish great things. Although the people in the city don’t know that Xuan Qi is the one hunting the female demon, she herself will still know what happened. If she really escapes this time, and defames his reputation all over the world, wouldn’t it tarnish the Xuan Sect?

Waste his time and painstakingly search for the female demon little by little?  What a joke, he will never give that demon any chance to escape! He would not give her even a moment to heal her wounds. That demon’s abilities are quite strong. If she deals with him in the city, it would be uncertain if he would come out victorious in the end.

Let her gather up some Yang Essence, and she will be able to fight again. So he can’t delay a moment longer.

    Chapter 095: Mistake

Liu Feizhou is the sole survivor of a demonic cultivator’s attack years ago. It was just a small town with a population of no more than ten thousand people.

He didn’t have many friends at that time, because he was often bullied and humiliated due to his low cultivation. Moreover, he always got backstabbed, what with his pretty and feminine appearance. He suffered a lot, so he didn’t have anything good to say about the practitioners in that city.

It’s just that not all of them were bad people.

Someone would occasionally smile at him, even if the other party was just a child. When the demonic cultivator slaughtered the city, he hid in a magic treasure, but that device could only accommodate him.

The rest died terribly, their bodies torn apart, badly mangled. There was nowhere to hide, nowhere to escape.

The person he hated to the point of disgust— died.

    Complete strangers also died.

People he knew and had contact with also died.

Everyone died. Maybe he could have quietly pulled another person in. After all, that demonic cultivator was only at the late Golden Core stage at that time, and the magic device he got by chance was high-level.

But then, he only had the cultivation base of Sensing Qi, and the power he could use was limited. Most importantly, once he was exposed, not only would he die, but the magic weapon would also be lost.

Without any hesitation, he knows what choice he must pick, and what choice to discard.

‘I don’t care about these people anyway. It has nothing to do with me if they die. It’s good enough as long as I survive.’ Liu Feizhou told himself over and over, ‘As long as I survive.’

He hardened his heart enough that he thought he would never regret it.

But, those despairing eyes are still hiding in his heart, tormenting him endlessly.  He still remembers that little boy’s name, he still remembers that he died by his side, his blood splattering on the device, a memory which he cannot erase no matter what he does.

Now history repeats itself again, calling forth the blood-soaked memory hidden in the deepest part of Liu Feizhou’s mind. Should he continue to hide, and watch a several hundred thousand people die, or use his identity for a last ditch attempt?

He is Master Dan’s direct disciple.

His master lit a Heart’s Blood Soul Lamp for him.

His status is much more important than that upstart from the Luminous Moon Sect, and he might be able to save the lives of the cultivators in Jinxiu City. The people in this city are not really complete strangers to him, he has been here many times, and there are some people whom he has gotten to know quite well.

He hears Wang Ningxi say that she’s going out. Liu Feizhou’s eyes are red, and he holds Su Tingyu’s arm tightly, a wild and fierce expression on his face.

He is hesitating, he is conflicted. In his core, the suffering from his past resurfaces.

    ——

Many people are dying outside, and Su Tingyun has tears in her eyes. She huddles under the jade umbrella, shivering under Big Bai’s hide. She couldn’t save those people, she could only hide in a corner and helplessly watch the whole city die.

Her heart hurts as if a knife is twisting in it, but there is nothing she can do.

“If you are seventy percent sure that you can save the people of the city, would you do it?” A low voice says next to her ear.

Su Tingyun nods without thinking. She has no choice but to take care of herself and her friends, but if she is seventy percent sure that she can stop it, she will definitely regret it later if she doesn’t do it.

There are several hundred thousand people in Jinxiu City!

But after nodding, the hand that is firmly on her arm unexpectedly lets go.

Wang Ningxi wants to go out, but Liu Feizhou gets out faster than her.

    “Liu Feizhou!”

Su Tingyun couldn’t grab him, he flies straight into the sky as soon as he’s out.

“This junior is escorting our Ancestor Duan’s great grandnephew in Jinxiu City. Since we have encountered a female demon who’s slaughtering the city, we must do all we can to help this ancestor to thoroughly eliminate the demon and avenge the death of those on the Righteous Path.” Xu Zhaoliang is that Nascent Soul cultivator earlier, the one who was following the Luminous Moon Sect’s Duan Lingtian. He now comes out to look for a way to save himself.

    “Your brain spins fast.”

The incomer snorts coldly, “But there is no need to let the Luminous Moon Sect intervene. Don’t you think so too?”

He has sealed off the whole city, no one can get out, there is no need to spare the Luminous Moon Sect. That Duan Potian is a person who is afraid to die and clings to life, and he has a lot of offsprings. He doesn’t believe that Duan Potian would even light a Soul Lamp for a mere great grandnephew.

Thinking of this, he goes to swat the other with his palm, “Are you deliberately stalling for time, trying to cover up the whereabouts of that demon woman!”

Xu Zhaoliang is only in the initial stage of Nascent Soul, how could he withstand the attack of an old monster in the late stage of Tribulation Transcendent? With just a slap, his meridians are severed and he bleeds from seven orifices, looking like he would not live. And the power from this palm spills to the surrounding people. Duan Lingtian, who’s still holding that painting scroll in his hand, is blown down by the palm wind. He is blown away, then falls straight into the city’s Qing River.

Zhang Zhizi got injured earlier, he couldn’t escape the attack of the Tribulation Transcendent at all. He merely feels a strong wind coming, and his internal organs are crushed. He is pressed into the ground, only feeling that it’s hard to breathe, and his soul is in severe pain.

    Is he dying?

Zhang Zhizi’s heart is burning with rage. Is he going to die here?

He hates this. Hates himself for willingly becoming a lowly goon. He racked his brains to please them, but still got treated like a dog.

He hates, hates that he wasn’t born with better prospects, and that he has no seniors to protect him. So he can only struggle at the bottom.

He hates, hates that so-called big sister, who stood on a high platform and looked down on others. She heard his begging, but didn’t even spare him a glance.

He hates the unfairness of the heavens. He has clearly invested so much hardship, and with great difficulty, could finally curry favor with Duan Lingtian. He’s finally got a chance to enter the inner circle of the Luminous Moon Sect, but he will die here in vain.

Extremely angry, the severe injury to his body makes him spit out a mouthful of dirty blood, splattering everywhere. By chance, the blood reaches the scroll that had just fallen to the ground.

A cold wind blows, and the scroll slowly unfolds.

Zhang Zhizi’s vision is blurry, but he seems to see on the scroll — the white clothed woman that’s holding a snow-white feather fan winks playfully at him.

“Jade Maiden, you have killed so many people in your life, and now, for this beautiful Jinxiu City to be buried with you, it would be worth it.”

After saying that, a magic weapon shaped like an upside-down bowl suddenly appears in the sky. As soon as this mysterious device appears, everyone feels an intense pressure.

The old man, who stood up to speak on behalf of the Wang family earlier, trembles from head to toe. Before he can say anything, his entire body explodes, blood and flesh going everywhere. It looks extremely ghastly.

Wang Ningxi’s eyes go wide, her hands firmly clutching Bai Chengyu beside her. Her body can’t stop trembling, and from her mouth comes a low whimper similar to that of a small animal.

Bai Chengyu doesn’t have time to take care of her, even if he’s using his spiritual energy to the extreme, there are a few very thin cracks on the jade umbrella. Although this talisman is an Immortal Device, he himself is not a Tribulation Transcendent. It’s no problem to protect himself alone, but now he has four more. There is also Xiao Budian in the Qi condensation period, so he has to use more energy in order to keep Xiao Budian safe. It is very strenuous.

Su Tingyun is also very nervous. The ghastly death outside makes her heart go cold. But right now, that Xuan Qi clearly wants to destroy the entire Jinxiu City. What can someone in Foundation Establishment do?

She can only do everything possible to protect her friends.

Su Tingyun takes out Big Bai’s skin and spreads it open, covering everyone with the hide. At this time, Wang Ningxi suddenly says, “I want to go out!”

“Thank you for your help, but my relatives and friends are all outside, so I have to go out.” Wang Ningxi’s cultivation base is just on Foundation Establishment as well, and she will definitely die if she goes out.

Liu Feizhou starts. His hands have been holding Su Tingyun, but at that point, his nails dig into her flesh, drawing blood.

He is someone who crawled out of a pile of corpses.

That night years ago, he struggled to get up, the fishy stench and taste of blood was everywhere, and dead people were all around him.

He burst out laughing over the pile of corpses, not because he was alive, but because they were all dead.

Liu Feizhou has always been obsessed with cleanliness, because the smell of blood and rot has always lingered, hidden in his heart. And he can’t get rid of it.

ANNNND WE’RE BACCC. Missing chaps are now fully translated!

    —–

Chapter 094: Massacre of a Captured City

Su Tingyun and the others are hiding under the jade umbrella, but they can see what’s happening outside.

A red phantom suddenly flashes across the rain alley, gone in the blink of an eye. Following that red shadow, a palm print drops from the sky, smashing the surrounding buildings into pieces. Those who couldn’t dodge in time naturally also die right then and there.

Generally speaking, the strength of a cultivation family is inferior to a Sect. That’s because Sects only accept practitioners with good qualifications, while blood-related family members cannot be abandoned regardless of their aptitude. On the contrary, the members with good aptitude are even sent to various large sects to gain apprenticeship, so as to find a big backer for their family.

All that to say, there are no particularly high-level cultivators in Jinxiu City at this time. Among the elders of the Wang family, the strongest ones are in the late Golden Core stage.

An old man plucks up his courage and raises his voice: “This is the Jinxiu City protected by Master Dan. Oh great one, please show mercy.”

The Tribulation Transcendent cultivator who has been hunting the Jade Maiden has yet to reveal himself, and his attack is a pair of palms. The Golden Core Stage cultivators in Jinxiu City simply have no idea where this powerhouse has come from, if this one is Righteous or Demonic. They just want to announce Master Dan’s name, so the other party can have some scruples, and might leave the practitioners inside the city a chance to survive.

However, the other party only snorts coldly, and the hearts of the cultivators waiting inside in the city go cold, like sinking into an icy lake.

“That demonic woman has already snuck into Jinxiu City. Since you people let her in so easily, don’t blame me for entering the city to get rid of that demon!” The voice is like rumbling thunder, shaking the Qi and blood of many. The weaker ones faint where they stand.

“The demonic cultivator has been seriously injured. If she heals her injuries, all of you in the city will not survive! If I don’t get rid of her today, it won’t just be a single Jinxiu City that will get annihilated by her hands in the future— but tens, hundreds, thousands of Jinxiu Cities!” The voice is getting closer and closer, and the flowers in Jinxiu City wither, the trees break, the pavilions and kiosks collapse one after another, and a large number of dead fish float up on the river.

    There’s the sound of footsteps.

He walks very slowly, but every step hitting the ground is like a drum heavily beating people’s hearts.

“Jade Maiden, in any case, this is the Wang family under the care of Dan Biqing. You and Dan Biqing had an affair once, why don’t you sacrifice yourself and come out in person.” The voice continues.

But there’s dead silence in the city, no one knows where the female demon is hiding right now.

“If she doesn’t come out, doesn’t this mean that your Jinxiu City is harboring a demon?” The voice suddenly rises, then he chuckles, “If that’s the case, then all of you can only accompany her to the grave.”

“Remember, it was the Jade Maiden who murdered you.” After that cold remark, another palm lands.

Bai Chengyu operates his spiritual energy to its limits, and he uses the jade umbrella to securely protect the group of five, “That person has already set up a barrier, no one here can escape. When it comes to it, he will kill the Tribulation Transcendent demon, and then place the blame of the city massacre on her head. He will be able to clean his hands, and even be named as the hero who killed the worst villain of the Demonic Path!”

“Who is he?” Wang Ningxi bursts into tears, her lips tightly pressed together, both hands clenched into fists.

Many of those people outside are her close relatives.

She might survive this, but what about after she survives? All her relatives would be dead, what would it matter if she’s alive?  Revenge? It is impossible for her to reach the Tribulation Transcendent period in her entire life. At this time, there is fear and hatred in her heart, but she’s completely at a loss of what to do.

“There is a ninety percent chance that it is Xuan Sect’s Xuan Qi.” As a member of Qianji Pavilion, Bai Chengyu used to know the world’s major events like the back of his hand, and he’s also familiar with the Tribulation Transcendents in this cultivation world. Now, with that voice and soul pressure, he deduces that it is probably Xuan Qi.

The footsteps come closer, and many of the low-ranking practitioners in the city have already died under the pressure emanating from him.

But just then, a voice says: “Xu Zhaoliang, of the Luminous Moon Sect. I pay salutations to this ancestor.”

Hearing a voice from the Luminous Moon Sect, a glimmer of hope rises in everyone’s chests.

YAY! Done with the retranslation. Please note that I took over at ch66, so there may be some inconsistencies with the names of Sects, Techniques, Magical Items and Places. Sorry.

    ——————————————————————-

    Chapter 065: Old Acquaintance

Su Tingyun called the wrong person.

She feels incredibly comfortable all over, as if she’s on the verge of floating, so she forgets to even to conceal her embarrassment. “Oh, Ren Yi, is there something Gr… uh, I can help you with?”

She nearly let slip the term “Granny.”

“No,” Bai Su looks up at the faint green spiritual energy above her head. “I’m just looking at that.”

“Oh,” Su Tingyun chuckles, still happily following her Master and the others. She’s feeling so comfortable now, but Zhan Yu and the rest are deathly anxious.

Su Tingyun looks at her Master’s worried expression, and she becomes nervous as well. However, she has no control over the ring. In truth, she has never truly controlled it at any point before.

Why did a mortal like Su Lijiang have such a ring? And his cultivation talent is so high, it’s simply unbelievable. Perhaps the ring hasn’t recognized its master yet…

Subconsciously, Su Tingyun touches the ring, then refrains from any further actions. Her body is filled with comfort, occasionally accompanied by a slight tingling sensation. However, she feels bitter inside, her facial expression alternating between laughter and tears, appearing very messy.

Bai Su, who’s been silently observing her, is utterly speechless. Unable to look at her any longer, he averts his gaze.

“Let’s forget about leaving. It doesn’t matter where we go. It’ll be just more conspicuous.” The group settles in a quiet area, forming a circle with Su Tingyun seated in the center. Little Uncle then activates a defensive barrier, enclosing everyone inside.

This barrier can only block those at the Golden Core stage, but on the Immortal Palace, there are quite a few with cultivations surpassing the Golden Core stage. Even Nascent Soul stage cultivators, if one counts both the righteous and demonic factions, there should be dozens.

“I keep feeling like someone would come to take her away,” says Third Uncle in a hushed tone.

“They must have reached an agreement above,” Leader Lingxiao says with a face as dark as water, her expression very serious. Elder Yan Shu, holding a bamboo sword in his hand at the moment, taps and swats at Su Tingyun. Although the strikes aren’t too painful, Su Tingyun still feels weird. However, since he is an elder, she silently endures it.

“Considering her bone age, her innate talent is average, and there’s no sign of spiritual energy or treasure light on her body. I have no idea why it’s like this,” he pauses, “Could it be because of this jade bracelet?”

Compared to the ring on her finger, the bracelet given to her by E Changguang appears to be much more valuable.

Inside E Changguang’s jade bracelet, there is an array she set up, concealing the bracelet’s spiritual nature and radiance. It looks plain, and even the jade quality appears quite crude. There are some cracks on it, making it seem like an ordinary and unremarkable item.

On the contrary, Su Tingyun’s ring is even more peculiar. After absorbing spiritual energy, the ring remains dull, and the tiny flame inside has a rusty color, lacking any aesthetic appeal.

Between the two, everyone is more willing to believe that there’s something strange about the jade bracelet.

At the mention of the bracelet, Su Tingyun’s heart skips a beat. This jade bracelet is a storage magical treasure containing Xiao Mei’s physical body, and there’s no room for any accidents.

She shakes her head, expressing ignorance, and then takes off the jade bracelet from her wrist, waving it around. Everyone sees the jade bracelet devoid of any luster, and the spiritual energy cloud shows no response. So they immediately shift their attention elsewhere.

Unfortunately, at this moment, a voice suddenly speaks up, “Why is this jade bracelet in your possession!”

Wang Xuanzhi wasn’t originally in the Immortal Palace, but upon hearing about the anomaly in the Palace, he immediately rushed over. Without exchanging greetings with the other cultivators in the Tribulation Transcendent stage, he zeroes in on the jade bracelet.

He immediately speaks up to inquire, and the other few people, seeing someone breaking the agreement, follow suit. In an instant, several powerful auras simultaneously appear, overwhelming the defensive barrier set up by Little Uncle Yan Yuqing, causing it to shatter.

He takes a half step back, his complexion slightly pale, but he remains standing tall, and looks at the formidable figures who have suddenly appeared before them.

There are a total of seven Tribulation Transcendent cultivators present. Among them, three are from the Righteous Sects, Three from the Demonic Sects, and one who is a wandering cultivator. Each of these seven individuals, regardless of their affiliation, is a figure who could shake the entire cultivation world with a mere stomp of their feet. Many people might never have the chance to encounter even one of them in their entire lives, and yet, unexpectedly, they are now facing all seven at once.

The already declined Obliteration Sword Tower has no right to engage in a conversation with these colossal figures. But at this moment, they are surrounded by the seven, and for a while, the cultivators of the Sword Tower are somewhat dumbfounded.

The invisible pressure emanating from them is enough to make their Sect members feel a soul-deep discomfort. However, as a faction of the Obliteration Sword Tower follows the path of Haoran Zhenqi, characterized by Righteousness, and the other faction follows the path of Killing to End Slaughter, even though they find the formidable pressure uncomfortable and tense, none of them are frightened.

Su Tingyun hasn’t cultivated Haoran Zhenqi yet, and she is in the center of the storm, making her feel extremely uncomfortable.

If Bai Su and the other two remain calm, they would attract too much attention. However, they manage to suppress their breaths to the minimum. At this moment, no one notices them at all, let alone their facial expressions.

“Why is this jade bracelet on you?” After Wang Xuanzhi asks this question, the attention of the other six Tribulation Transcendent cultivators is directed towards the jade bracelet on Su Tingyun’s wrist.

“Could it be because of this jade bracelet? Have we all underestimated it?” Luminous Moon Sect’s Patriarch, Duan Potian, is the first to speak.

“Now that you mention it, this jade bracelet does look somewhat familiar.” Su Junhua, the Patriarch of the Beast Taming Sect, contemplates for a moment, then looks up at Wang Xuanzhi before shaking his head.

Su Tingyun feels the weight of everyone’s gaze, as if bearing the pressure of countless mountains on her body. It becomes difficult for her to breathe, her body bending under the pressure. However, she notices that her Master and Uncles are all supporting. Determined not to let her sect down, she forces herself to stand firm, audibly grinding her teeth.

Just at this moment, her ring falls silent, and the gathered spiritual energy gradually disperses, restoring the Immortal Palace to its original state.

This person must know Senior E.

Su Tingyun struggles to speak, “It was a gift from Senior E.”

“Do you mean E Changguang?” Luminous Moon Sect’s Duan Potian sounds surprised, a hint of joy in his voice, “Is it possible that E Changguang has finally accepted a disciple, and it’s you? Did you inherit her Qiankun Formation Eyes?”

They had been unable to decipher the formation in the Immortal Palace for a long time, and lamented that if E Changguang were present, they might have broken it. Unfortunately, she fell…

Even the Array Hall of the Wuliang Sect has completely disappeared, making it truly hard for people to accept.

“She gave it to you?” Wang Xuanzhi looks at it again. Then, with a lift of his hand, Su Tingyun’s hand involuntarily stiffens and extends in front of her. The jade bracelet is now exposed for everyone to see.

Even if someone coincidentally found the jade bracelet, without E Changguang’s approval, it would be impossible for the bracelet to recognize another master. Wang Xuanzhi sighs lightly. The pressure he exerted on Su Tingyun disappears. At the same time, he waves his hand, isolating the pressure from others and relieving the weight on Su Tingyun.

“Before she left, did she say anything?”

This question leaves many people puzzled, but some people’s eyes darken a little, indicating they might know something.

On the side, the usually silent Demonic powerhouse known as the Blood Demon, Zhang Hentian, sneers and chuckles, “This person is just over eighty years old in bone age. E Changguang turned to ashes three thousand years ago. What could she possibly say to her?”

Could this person be the one E Changguang once had feelings for?

E Changguang’s final words were to instruct her to take the clothes and wear them. After that, she burst into hearty laughter, not mentioning anyone else. The laughter, mimicked by Orchid Tongue Grass, became a constant, eerie sound. So, when Su Tingyun recalls it, her initial recollection is a series of ‘hahaha’s.

She can only shake her head, “Senior E left with a smile.”

Su Tingyun gestures with her hand, “She turned into blue starlight that filled the whole sky.”

“Oh, could it be that E Changguang didn’t die three thousand years ago, but has been hiding somewhere all this time? Did she feel that because you all missed Xi Guang after she lost her primordial spirit, she wanted to follow suit to catch a certain someone’s attention, but in the end…” The speaker is another female demonic cultivator. She’s very beautiful and dressed provocatively, with only a few ribbons barely covering crucial areas. She sits on a Windborn Beast, appearing both enchanting and domineering.

“Jade-girl, don’t poke people’s sore spots.” Zhang Hentian glances at Wang Xuanzhi with a meaningful look.

“Wang Xuanzhi, you’re done with your questions. Now it’s our turn, right?” The female demonic cultivator, who goes by the name Jade Maiden, finishes speaking and takes out a long whip. It lands with a snap at Su Tingyun’s feet. “What good stuff are you hiding on your body? Hand it over quickly to save me the trouble of searching. If I have to search, it’ll involve peeling off your skin and dismantling your bones.”

Just as her voice falls, countless exclamations ring out around them.

Near the Immortal Palace, numerous clouds of spiritual energy appear in various sizes, and within those clouds, there are actually auspicious lights present.

    “An Immortal Device is born.”

As the Immortal Treasures emerge, several Tribulation Transcendent powerhouses can’t contain their excitement. At this moment, several rays of light shoot off, leaving only Wang Xuanzhi behind.

His expression is slightly melancholic. “She… truly didn’t say anything?”

Su Tingyun carefully thinks back, then shakes her head.

Wang Xuanzhi bursts into laughter, but his laughter carries a hint of madness, and appears somewhat miserable. The sound carries an invisible soul pressure that infects everyone around. People feel dejected, as if they’ve lost something  very important.

Wang Xuanzhi doesn’t even compete for the Immortal Treasures; he walks forward in a dazed manner. However, Su Tingyun can’t muster sympathy. Considering what Senior E had said, along with the earlier comments from Zhang Hentian and the female demonic cultivator, Su Tingyun believes that Wang Xuanzhi must have let down E Changguang.

Or it’s because of Xi Guang, the most beautiful woman in the world.

If he hadn’t betrayed her, how could Senior E, who loved to talk so much in those final years, sum up a person with just a short sentence?

Some people, don’t cherish what they have. It’s only when they lose it that they regret it deeply.

“The Soaring Dragon Pillar is about to disappear,” Zhan Yu closely observes the movements of the pillar, whispering a reminder. Once the pillar vanishes, they will be thrown out of the Immortal Palace, regardless if they’re in the Tribulation Transcendent stage or Foundation Establishment stage. When the time comes, they’ll run as if they’re feet are smeared with oil.

But unexpectedly, even before the Soaring Dragon Pillar completely disappears, several Tribulation Transcendents have already each obtained an Immortal Device.

Despite having acquired these treasures, they show no intention of letting Su Tingyun go.

Ren Jia comments, “You fool, why did you just throw five items when a single one would do? Now, each of them has one, and there’s no need for any competition.”

Ren Yi feels aggrieved again, saying, “How was I supposed to know that one of them wouldn’t try to fight at all?”

Bai Su, unable to resist, rubs his forehead. Originally, he had definitely chosen to take Ren Jia, so why did he succumb to the other’s pleading and ended up bringing Ren Yi too, this tagalong?

In the realm where he comes from, those so-called immortal treasures mean nothing, but here, due to the treasure’s abundant spiritual energy and sophisticated refining techniques, they all qualify as immortal treasures. He has plenty of them, and throwing a bunch around doesn’t matter to him. With several Tribulation Transcendent cultivators on the other group, it will take a lot of effort for Ren Jia and Ren Yi to deal with them, and it would surely expose their identities. He doesn’t think it’s necessary or worthwhile to do so at the moment.

If the problem can be solved by tossing a few unimportant items, he is more than willing to do it. He had expected them to fight over the treasures for a while, but unexpectedly…

“Why is there a phenomenon in the Immortal Palace and immortal treasures emerged after you appeared?” the Luminous Moon Sect’s Duan Potian muses, “Could it be that you carry the key to the Immortal Palace!?”

“Why ask so much? Just search her!” The demonic cultivator, Jade Maiden, sneers, her five fingers forming claws, attempting to grab Su Tingyun directly.

However, at this moment, a sword light suddenly appears. The sword’s aura is formidable, making her heart tremble. The Jade Maiden instinctively withdraws her hand. What’s going on?

It turns out to be Little Uncle brandishing a sword, blocking in front of Su Tingyun. There’s already blood on the bright sword tip, winding down to form a line of red.

    That blood is his own.

    “Slaughter Ending Sword!”

Usually appearing to be only at the Foundation Establishment stage, Zhan Yu’s cultivation suddenly elevates to the Golden Core stage when he grips his own sword. As for the Slaughter Ending Sword from his blood sacrifice, it causes Yan Yuqing’s cultivation to soar to the Nascent Soul stage.

“The enemy is strong, and I am strong. Kill to end Slaughter!” At this moment, his black robe flutters in the wind, and his aura climbs steadily, making several Nascent Soul cultivators feel a bit wary.

“If I sacrifice myself to the sword, surely I can severely injure a great master in the Tribulation Transcendent stage, making it impossible for them to ascend. Who wants to give it a try?” The killing intent of the sword blade is fully revealed, unexpectedly enveloping the other cultivators of the Obliteration Sword Tower.

The expressions of several Tribulation Transcendents freeze. They know that the other speaks the truth. The murderous intent of that sword makes even them feel a bit uneasy.

Their hearts drum, a sensation they haven’t experienced for a long time since the breakthrough to their current level.

As Yan Yuqing performs the blood ritual for the sword, Zhan Yu and the others simultaneously draw their blades, forming a sword formation.

“Call upon the Great Righteousness of heaven and earth, annihilate the evil forces in all directions. Execute the Evil-killing Sword Array!”

Su Tingyun is surrounded, she’s at the center. At this moment, she suddenly feels that joining the Obliteration Sword Tower is probably the most correct choice she has made in her entire life.

She may not have a sword yet.

But, like them, she will wield her sword without hesitation for the sake of her sect.

“Haha, bro, don’t you think my master is amazing? To be able to pretend to be his disciple, I suddenly feel so happy and safe!” Ren Yi looks at Yan Yuqing, who stands with a sword in hand, and suddenly speaks up.

In fact, Ren Jia is also somewhat moved, as it’s been a long time since he has seen someone like this. The entire sect is even willing to go all out for a seemingly insignificant junior. However, Ren Yi’s words has instantly shattered the solemn atmosphere.

    Ren Jia: “Hehe.”

My Lord, please slap him to death. I won’t stop you.

    Chapter 064: Body Tempering

The new arrival is from one of the Six Great Sects, the Nirvana Sect. The man who spoke just now is a cultivator at the Golden Core stage. He is followed by two male cultivators in gray robes at the Foundation Establishment stage, as well as two beautiful female cultivators who are also at the Foundation Establishment stage.

Su Tingyun can’t help but glance a bit more at the woman in a plain-colored long dress. She has a beautiful appearance, with a small smile on her face. She looks very familiar.

Su Tingyun has a good memory. She recalls the conversation with Xiao Mei about repaying debts and seeking revenge. Now, she remembers that the woman’s name is Zi Yuan, the one who provided them with a Pill bottle, which saved Xiao Mei’s life. Back then, they thought this group’s cultivation was unfathomable, but now it seems they’re only at the Foundation Establishment stage.

After recognizing one of them, the rest are also familiar. Except for Zi Yuan, to whom she has a debt of gratitude, the others are unpleasant, especially the other female cultivator. Today, she wears a dark green embroidered, cloud-patterned dress, with three swirling hems. She is currently looking down with disdain at the cultivators from the Obliteration Sword Tower, exuding an arrogant demeanor.

The one in the gray robe is the guy who threw a few pieces of low-grade spirit stones on the ground. Thinking of these people, Su Tingyun feels uncomfortable. She wishes to teach them a lesson, but her strength is currently insufficient. More importantly, they are disciples from one from one of the six great sects. In comparison, the Obliteration Sword Tower is in a weak position. If their actions cause trouble for the sect, it would be a grave sin.

Su Tingyun sneakily glances at her Little Uncle, unsure of how he will handle the situation.

At a time like this, perhaps it’s best to step back and let bygones be bygones. The Sect Leader’s and the others have already stood up, preparing to leave. Even the hired Foundation Establishment cultivators have long distanced themselves from the scene.

Just at this moment, the Golden Core cultivator leading the Nirvana Sect’s group has his expression change all of a suddenly. Subsequently, he starts to dance on the spot, like a performer baring fangs and brandishing claws.

“Senior Brother Xu, what’s happening to you?” The female cultivator in the dark green dress quickly grabs the man’s hand and anxiously asks. Unexpectedly, the man she called ‘Senior Brother Xu’ turns around and directly embraces her without any regard. He then starts licking and biting her face. This behavior leaves everyone around them stunned.

Initially, the female cultivator is taken aback, but then she pretends to resist. Yet her body goes limp like a boneless creature. Her voice becomes particularly sweet, “Senior Xu, what’s wrong with you? Don’t be like this…”

Moreover, she even deliberately turns her head to glance at Zi Yuan, who looks dumbfounded beside her. After provoking her in this way, Zi Yuan’s face turns pale. She bites her lip and doesn’t say a word, instead surveying the surroundings with her eyes.

“Who’s behind this?” Zi Yuan’s voice is cool as she gazes directly at the cultivators from the Obliteration Sword Tower, “Is it you?”

“How could it be us? The one with the highest cultivation among us is in the Golden Core stage, and we’re all sword cultivators,” Zhan Yu immediately raises his hands in a gesture of innocence, “We’re giving up our spot now; don’t blame us.”

With a tearing sound, the female cultivator’s clothes are ripped, revealing a large portion of her shoulder. Meanwhile, the Golden Core cultivator’s hands are reaching into her clothes, then starts rubbing.

Upon witnessing this scene, Bai Su rubs his temples again, and Ren Jia’s forehead twitches. What on earth is Ren Yi doing?

Ren Yi looks innocent and explains through a transmission, “I just cast an illusionary formation on him. Who would’ve thought he had such things in his mind? Also, that woman could just push him away, and it’ll be over. And isn’t she intentionally make her voice sound coquettish?”

The Nirvana Sect is a major sect, and they can’t allow this madness to continue. However, the one going mad is in the Golden Core stage, while the other four are just in the Foundation Establishment stage– they can’t restrain him at all.

“Yao Huang, push him away!” Unable to attack and unable to pull him away, the one who tries to intervene is slapped away by their senior brother. Now, they can only shout at Yao Huang.

The female cultivator shows a tearful expression, “I can’t push him away!” Since the person going mad is their senior brother, they dare not use force. They can only watch in frustration as he skillfully begins to undress her. The jade-green embroidered bellyband is about to be revealed. Yao Huang, the female cultivator, starts to panic.

Although she wants to follow her senior brother, not at a time like this, when there are too many people watching around. Most importantly, there’s clearly something wrong with her senior brother right now. What if he denies everything later? She is anxious too, “Who’s causing this trouble? Our Nirvana Sect will definitely not let this go.”

After yelling, she is muffled by the other party, she could only let out whimpering sounds.

When the senior brother finally releases her and starts removing his own clothes, she sternly shouts, “What are you looking at? Keep staring, and I’ll gouge out your eyes!”

They are all in the Foundation Establishment stage, even if they set up a barrier, it won’t stop others. The other two disciples have already contacted the sect, but it’s been a long time, and they still haven’t arrived. Could it be that they’ve clashed with someone else?

Su Tingyun has been wondering who has the ability to play tricks on a Golden Core stage cultivator like this. She secretly observes her fellow sect members and feels that none of them seem likely. Just then, she notices that one of them, Ren Yi (Bai Su in disguise), is frowning slightly, seemingly displeased.

At this moment, the Golden Core stage cultivator, whose pants are halfway down, suddenly regains consciousness. Initially stunned, he quickly pulls up his pants and angrily shouts, “Who used underhanded tricks? I, Xu Feng, will not let this person live under the same sky. Come out!”

Yao Huang, still in tears, hurriedly puts on her clothes. Just as she pitifully calls out, “Senior Brother,” Xu Feng loudly commands, “Get lost!” Startled by his outburst, she bursts into tears.

This scene turns into a big joke for the spectators of the Nirvana Sect.

However, those who can stay near the entrance of the Immortal Palace’s main hall are all cultivators with considerable strength, mostly disciples from other major sects. At this moment, they simply sit down and start cultivating, paying no attention to his words.

Su Tingyun and her group are excluded from entering due to their relatively low cultivation level. However, because the other party wants to investigate the situation, they are not allowed to leave. Everyone decides to meditate and cultivate in place, awaiting the arrival of the cultivators from the Nirvana Sect.

“The spiritual energy here is extremely rich, a hundred times stronger than those spiritual veins and springs. Make good use of this time for cultivation,” says the Sect Leader Lingxiao.

Su Tingyun starts circulating her cultivation method. With average aptitude, her absorption of spiritual energy is not particularly fast. However, after sitting down, something feels off today. Her ring heats up intensely, causing her fingertips to ache. She struggles to focus, and even the Pill Fire within her starts to stir restlessly, burning stronger than before.

Feeling uncomfortable all over, she tries to concentrate and calm herself. After a while, she manages to ease the discomfort slightly. However, while she hasn’t been cultivating for long, a commotion arises around her. Thinking it’s the cultivators from Nirvana Sect, she opens her eyes, only to find everyone staring at her.

The spiritual energy in this Immortal Palace is quite peculiar, not evenly distributed. The areas near the main and rear gates of the palace have the most, followed by the side gates. In other words, the spiritual energy is denser near the major entrances, giving the impression that the extremely rich spiritual energy is overflowing from inside the palace.

People with higher cultivation aptitude, especially those with the legendary Heavenly Spirit Body, might induce spiritual energy whirlpools or other celestial phenomena when cultivating in such abundant energy. At this moment, however, the entire Immortal Palace’s spiritual energy is rushing toward the main gate, creating a faint green hue visible even to the naked eye.

Su Tingyun has a massive spiritual energy vortex above her head. As the spiritual energy from the Immortal Palace converges around her, not only are the people originally present in this area astonished, but even those who rushed here from other places are left in a state of shock.

Bai Su isn’t particularly interested in the Immortal Palace. The so-called abundant spiritual energy here doesn’t differ much from the most ordinary places of the realm where he comes from. He thinks this so-called Immortal Palace is just a little toy concocted by people from their realm for casual amusement.

However, seeing Su Tingyun in this state surprises him. With her aptitude, even the pampered elites of the upper realms might not match up.

    Not even he can compare.

Yet, the other party’s bone age and aptitude are clear at a glance, showing no outstanding features whatsoever. She is plain and unremarkable in every aspect, with the only noteworthy detail being a somewhat familiar tone in her speech.

Her voice is anything but ordinary.

Whether or not she possesses high-grade magical treasures, Bai Su can discern at a glance. At this moment, he hasn’t completely figured out what has caused these anomalies.

This strange occurrence has attracted the top experts in this realm. Sensing several auras approaching rapidly, Bai Su’s brows slightly furrow, and he gently taps his hand which has been resting on his leg.

“What does M’Lord mean? Is he planning to eliminate everyone?” Ren Yi observes that hand with an anxious expression, speculating about his lord’s intentions. There are several Tribulation Transcendent experts approaching. Is it time to start tossing Immortal Treasures again?

It feels a bit hard to part with them.

The one absorbing spiritual energy like crazy isn’t Su Tingyun, but the ring in her hand. However, Su Tingyun could see that no one seems to have realized it’s because of this ring. Otherwise, everyone wouldn’t be focusing on her but on the ring.

“Master,” Su Tingyun sees the stunned expression on Zhan Yu’s face and speaks with a hint of concern.

Zhan Yu immediately regains his composure, “Let’s go!”

The disciples of the Obliteration Sword Tower naturally understand that staying here makes them easy targets. Everyone gets up to leave, with Yan Yuqing bringing up the rear, sword at the ready. As for the Foundation Establishment cultivators recruited earlier, they have long since fled.

For some reason, there is no one stopping them from leaving at this moment. However, they can only move to places with fewer people since they can only leave the Immortal Palace after the Soaring Dragon Pillars disappear.

What’s even more shocking is that the spiritual energy moves along with them. In other words, at this moment, spiritual energy has been taken away, and others are unable to cultivate.

“Could that be a Heavenly Spirit Body?” someone murmurs in the haze.

“Doesn’t seem like it,” another person speaks, “Let’s observe. We’ve been unable to crack the secrets of the Immortal Palace, and now with this anomaly, it might be a good thing.”

“Yes, let’s wait a bit longer,” a third voice says.

The spiritual energy continues to surge into Su Tingyun’s body, but it’s just an illusion. What’s truly absorbing the spiritual energy is her ring.

As the ring takes in the spiritual energy, a refreshing sensation flows from her fingertips into her body. Su Tingyun feels incredibly comfortable, almost weightless as she walks. Despite her initial worries, the soothing sensation takes over, and she can’t help but sport a faint smile on her face.

It’s like she’s so shocked that she can’t help but laugh foolishly.

As for Bai Su, the perplexity on his face deepens. His consciousness is exceptionally powerful, and his attention to detail surpasses that of others. He can even see that in a short period of time, her aptitude is gradually undergoing changes.

It’s as if these spiritual energies are giving her a profound transformation, down to her bones. How is this possible? If there were truly such spiritual energies, even in his realm, people would be competing fiercely for them.

Or perhaps, these are not simply ordinary spiritual energies?

He stares intently at Su Tingyun, and the intensity of his gaze makes her feel a shiver like there’s a thorn on her back. When she turns around, she sees a stranger with unblinking eyes fixed on her.

Oh no, he’s not a stranger.

Su Tingyun, having been a granny for over a decade, has long shed the girlish antics of her youth. For instance, now when she notices someone staring at her, her initial reaction isn’t bashfulness but a straightforward inquiry, “What’s up? Hungry? Need watering? A flower wreath? Want help?”

“What’s the matter? Is anything wrong, Ren San?” Remembering that this person is a new disciple of her Little Uncle, Su Tingyun asks amicably.

    Bai Su: “…”

“I’m Ren Yi,” he calmly states.

Behind him, Ren Yi peeks out, pulling Ren Jia along, “I’m Ren Er, and he’s Ren San. Senior sister, don’t get it wrong.”

Ren Jia: “He’s addicted to playing around.”

    Chapter 63: Unhappy

This time, Yan Yuqing has gone out and recruited five disciples, a very fruitful harvest. His tower is spacious enough, providing ample rooms for his disciples. In other words, Su Tingyun suddenly gains five new neighbors. She’d able to wave and greet the people across from her, as she stands by her window on the second floor.

Of course, in the world of cultivation, probably no one would make such casual gestures.

Like Su Tingyun, the five disciples pay their respects to the Sect Leader, the Elders, and the various Uncles. They also exchanged greetings with Su Tingyun. The Ren brothers, except for Ren Er with his smiling and cheerful demeanor, the other two seem to have received the true teachings of their master, maintaining expressionless faces throughout, like three stone men.

Moreover, the trio’s faces are so ordinary, that people would easily forget them, giving Su Tingyun a feeling she can’t quite grasp. In any case, she can’t even differentiate between Ren Yi and Ren San.

Clearly, the two of them look completely different.

After completing the ceremony of paying respects to their masters, Su Tingyun and her group prepare to head to the Trial Island. Since Su Tingyun is waiting for Third Uncle to finish forging two iron balls, they are delayed, while the Sect Leader and Little Uncle have already left. The remaining group consists of Third Uncle, their master, and Su Tingyun. As for Xiao Budian, his cultivation is not high enough to go up the Soaring Dragon Pillar, and they can’t just leave him alone on the small island while they journey to the Trial Island. Therefore, he will remain in the Obliteration Sword Tower, getting acquainted with the surroundings alongside his new junior brother and sister.

The iron balls are quickly forged, with Third Uncle working swiftly and even designing various styles by stringing together larger and smaller ones. Once done, Su Tingyun, along with Third Uncle and Master, heads to the Heaven Firmament Peak on Mount Wuliang. To conserve spiritual beasts, both of them wait outside.

After Su Tingyun tosses the iron balls down, she leaves reluctantly. She promises to an Orchid Tongue Grass that she will return every month to deliver flower wreaths and iron balls. In case she is in seclusion or has urgent matters preventing her from coming, she assures that someone else will bring them.

Even if she can’t bring Big Bai out right now, she wants to use this method to tell it, ’I will accompany you, so you’re not alone.’

Below the Sealed Heaven Border, the flower wreath on Big Bai’s head is already in a sorry state. Despite its careful protection using spiritual energy, the flower wreath has been ravaged by the astral winds, and no longer look beautiful. Whenever it’s free, it crouches down where the flower wreath fell, tilting its head back to gaze at the top.

Due to the seal, it can’t see the cliff or the sky. Above its head is just an impenetrable gray. But now, it holds a lot more anticipation.

    “Chirp!”

    Something fell.

Dead bodies? Not interested. Big Bai disdainfully spits out something, corroding away the corpse that was pushed down the cliff after being killed, making it disappear into thin air before reaching the ground.

    “Chirp, chirp, chirp!”

Iron balls are falling, many of them!

Its body turns large and flat, like a blanket. It jumps into the air to catch all the iron balls of various sizes inside. After collecting them, its body returns to its original shape. The surface of its round body bulges with several big and small bumps, if it takes one into itself on one side, a different ball would pop out on its the other side.

It’s not that its stomach can’t hold them all; Big Bai just finds it amusing. Even though its memories have returned, and Big Bai understands a lot, it still feels like it has never had so much fun before. At least, this is much more enjoyable than killing.

When will she fall down? Big Bai occasionally wonders, but it’s no longer the naive Big Bai from before; it’s just a passing thought.

Having something to play with is good enough. Big Bai takes out the largest iron ball, uses its head to push it, and rolls it far away, crushing a patch of Orchid Tongue Grass.

Third Uncle’s iron balls are sturdy and quite heavy. A large area of Orchid Tongue Grasses are flattened, but after a moment, they resiliently lift their soft leaves. Suddenly, the other uninjured Orchid Tongue Grasses collectively sway, emitting a multitude of discontented and noisy sounds.

Orchid Tongue Grass: ” Ji ji, gu gu, ji ji, gu gu…”

    Big Bai: “Chirp!”

When Su Tingyun and the others arrive at the Trial Island, the Soaring Dragon Pillar has already disappeared, which means they have to wait another day.

“I heard that the spiritual energy is denser up there,” says the Foundation Establishment cultivator hired by Little Uncle, his face beaming with a smile, eagerly anticipating entering the Immortal Palace in the skies through the Soaring Dragon Pillar.

Someone nearby throws cold water on his excitement, “It’s dense in some places, but not everywhere. The good spots are already taken by those strong cultivators. The inferior places are worse than ordinary Immortal Caves. When you get thrown down, you need to be careful. If you accidentally get involved with those malicious cultivators from the Demonic Path, even if they can’t kill you due to the rules, they might still make you suffer.”

The person who spoke initially has his smile suddenly go stiff, and mutters, “No wonder they still have to pay us spirit stones.”

If that weren’t the case, would they still need to hire these wandering cultivators? These scattered practitioners would surely be the ones fighting desperately to squeeze in, and spend money to secure a spot.

Cultivators’ spiritual energy can support the formation. They can rest and meditate directly on the small island overnight, while everyone sits cross-legged, waiting for the Soaring Dragon Pillar to rise the next day. However, trouble finds its way to them in just half an hour.

“Obliteration Sword Tower? So, this is Obliteration Sword Tower!” The cultivator speaking has handsome features, wearing a crescent white, embroidered black robe. He has a long sword at his waist, exuding an air of nobility.

“That’s right, Brother Yuan Hong. Is everyone from Obliteration Sword Tower here? To enter the Immortal Palace, not only do they have everyone in the sect mobilize, but they also need to find people externally.”

After this sword cultivator, Brother Yuan Hong, finishes speaking, behind him is a different cultivator with a sword on his back, who immediately elaborates while wearing a sycophantic smile on his face.

“But it is what it is.” After Yuan Hong finishes speaking, several sword cultivators behind him nod simultaneously, and one female cultivator among them says, “Master does hold the Obliteration Sword Tower in high regard.”

“Master holds the Old Obliteration Sword Tower in high regard, not this current one,” another person remarks. “Look at them now. What do they look like?”

They don’t even wear the sect disciples’ uniforms, they’re dressed in coarse linen clothes, some even in straw shoes that reveal their toes. It’s a mess, and the highest cultivation level among them is only at the Golden Core stage.

Listening to their mockery of her sect, Su Tingyun feels uncomfortable, but seeing that the Sect Master and Uncles are indifferent, she suppresses her anger and closes her eyes, focusing on meditation and cultivation.

After the group of sword cultivators lands on another nearby island, they summon various magical treasures for relaxation, making the small island look like a palace. Some female cultivators set up beautiful soft couches, and there’s even someone who brings out a large bed with canopy curtains.

“Humph, showing off!” Ren Er starts complaining.

His voice is not low, and since they are all cultivators, several even at the Golden Core stage, they naturally hear Ren Er’s words. Suddenly, someone directly slashes with a sword, attempting to split their island into two.

Little Uncle Yan Yuqing immediately draws his sword. In a flash of cold light, the opposing sword energy is shattered by a single stroke from Yan Yuqing, and the force of his sword continues, targeting the conspicuously displayed large bed.

Inside the bed, there is a man and a woman, not engaged in anything, just meditating.

Yuan Hong suddenly opens his eyes, and the hand holding his sword is sweaty. As a sword cultivator representing the Mingjian Sect, evading the situation might be easy, but doing so would tarnish the reputation of Mingjian Sect. However, if he doesn’t dodge, he won’t be able to catch the sword in time, and he also doesn’t have the time to do so.

The female cultivator next to him immediately activates her spiritual energy. The canopy, driven by a strong gust, loses its soft and ethereal quality. As it rises, it becomes as rigid as iron, blocking the sword energy with tremendous force. With a crisp sound, like piercing through paper, the sword energy effortlessly cuts through the obstructing canopy. However, the moment it reaches Yuan Hong’s brows, it quietly disappears.

Yuan Hong clenches his fists hard, his gaze fixed on Yan Yuqing, who drew that sword. Although both are in the Golden Core stage, Yuan Hong knows from just this one blow that he is not a match for the other.

As the two sides seem about to clash, Yuan Hong raises his hand to stop them. He withdraws his gaze, his face dark, and says, “Now is not the time to take action.”

Yan Yuqing establishes his prowess with a sword, earning a mental thumbs-up from Su Tingyun.

She feels that her Little Uncle’s sword technique seems even more formidable than her Master’s. Is this the power of the Killing sword? Indeed, he is a big and strong man who’s been singlehandedly raising an entire Sect of unreliable middle-and-old-aged people, he’s extremely valiant.

Bai Su, sitting on the side, rubs his forehead, raising an eyebrow as he glances at Ren Yi.

Ren Yi feels uneasy inside, thinking, “This is bad; My Lord must be annoyed with him again for causing trouble.”

“How about discreetly destroying that Mingjian Tower? What say you, brother?” he telepathically communicates to Ren Jia.

    Ren Jia: “Haha.”

At noon on the second day, the Dragon Pillars rise again from the water’s surface. Each water column is managed by a group of cultivators. After registering with the Obliteration Sword Tower, they are finally allowed to enter.

Su Tingyun and her group enter the water column, feeling a powerful force lifting them into the air. Before long, they could see the floating city in the sky.

Amidst the swirling clouds and mist, the Immortal Palace looms.

The city spans thousands of acres, suspended in the air. However, none of it can be seen from below. Even if one flies into the sky, one wouldn’t see a trace of it. Only through the Soaring Dragon Pillars can one encounter the place.

Among the recruited individuals, there are those who have been here before, and now they eagerly explain, “We’ve landed right at the main entrance of the Immortal Palace. The spiritual energy here is extremely rich. We should to take a few more breaths while others haven’t arrived yet. Today, luck is on our side.”

Unless someone has extraordinary innate talent, like those with a Heavenly Spirit Physique who can absorb spiritual energy from the heavens and earth at any time, others must activate their cultivation techniques to absorb it. So, the idea of taking a few more breaths, as this person suggests, is just a joke.

But he actually takes a couple of deep breaths, leaving people bemused.

As for Xiao Mei’s Profound Yin Physique, it is said to also be able absorb spiritual energy directly from the surroundings, but somewhat inferior to the Heavenly Spirit Body. Unfortunately, thinking about Xiao Mei brings a heavy feeling to Su Tingyun’s heart. Where can she get a Ninth Grade Pill to help Xiao Mei?

“So this is the Immortal Palace. I wonder what secrets it holds. Fifth Senior Brother, you excel in formations, can you discern anything?”

Zhan Yu’s Fifth Senior Brother is also at the Foundation Establishment stage. After being asked, he carefully observes for a moment. However, before he can make any conclusions, someone directly suppresses them with their divine sense and shouts, “You want to occupy this place for cultivation even with your meagre strength!? Hurry and step aside!”

The one reprimanding is at the Golden Core stage, judging by the attire, likely from a major sect.

Su Tingyun’s consciousness is relatively strong, so she hasn’t suffered any harm at the moment. However, her eyelids keep twitching, and her mood is a bit gloomy.

The competition for resources in this Immortal Palace has begun as soon as they landed. If the sect isn’t powerful, it seems they’ll be bullied wherever they go…

Bai Su feels a slight headache coming on.

He must have lost his mind. Secretly joining the Obliteration Sword Tower and diving into the lake’s depths to uncover the truth—what’s the point of tagging along with them for all this commotion?

No matter where he goes, people would point fingers and curse at him. This feeling is just too uncomfortable.

Was it because he got confused when he felt the touch that night, felt something familiar, and wanted to see what’s going on? Or was it the Orchid Tongue Grass annoying him that made him need something to distract himself?

Regardless, Bai Su is currently very unhappy.

He raises his hand and gently pats Ren Yi’s shoulder.

    Chapter 062: Little Uncle

The middle-aged man in green is named Cang Wu. He is the Zhan Yu’s third senior brother, and Su Tingyun has to address him as Third Martial Uncle.

Third Uncle has reached the eighth level of Foundation Establishment. He knows how to forge weapons, and is currently the one responsible for crafting the large iron swords in the Obliteration Sword Tower. Before even performing the formal apprenticeship ceremony or meeting the others, Su Tingyun starts cooking. Due to limited resources, she finds the taste only average, but Bu Xingzhi is ecstatic, eating like a starving ghost that just got reincarnated.

Even Zhan Yu, appearing out of nowhere, joins in and devours a large bowl of rice and a few pieces of meat. While eating at the table, he even taps it with his chopsticks and says, “No need to offer tea to your Master. This meal will do.”

(In most xianxia, becoming a disciple usually involves serving the Master tea)

After eating their fill, Xiao Budian clears the dishes by himself, while Zhan Yu leads Su Tingyun to meet the others.

Rather than individually searching for each person, there are just over ten people in the Obliteration Sword Tower. At this moment, they all stand in front of Zhan Yu’s small bamboo dwelling, waiting for him to introduce them.

In the center stands an elegantly dressed woman, appearing to be around thirty. Her hair is coiled into a high bun, and a wooden stick is inserted on top. She wears no embellishments.

Zhan Yu bows to the woman, respectfully saying, “Master.” Then, he instructs Su Tingyun to kneel, “This is my master, your master as well, and also the head of our Obliteration Sword Tower, Master Lingxiao.”

Su Tingyun sincerely pays her respects to her new master, performing the customary kneeling ceremony.

Master Lingxiao, the head of the Obliteration Sword Tower, appears serene and amiable, with a smile as elegant as a chrysanthemum.

“No need for formalities. After entering the Obliteration Sword Tower, although the days may be austere, you walk the righteous path. Do you understand?” Master Lingxiao says with a smile.

    “Disciple understands,” Su Tingyun replies.

With that, the introductions continue. To the left is Elder Fangyuan of the Obliteration Sword Tower, Master Lingxiao’s junior brother. He has a fair and plump appearance, truly living up to his name. On the right is a tall and thin figure, dressed in a black robe and wielding a long sword. He is also around thirty years old, with a resolute face and sharp eyes. At first glance, he gives off an impression of sternness. He is Elder Yan Shu, another junior brother of Master Lingxiao.

The other six are Zhan Yu’s martial brothers. As Zhan Yu is the sixth in seniority, Su Tingyun addresses them as senior martial uncles. Originally, the Obliteration Sword Tower had a total of eleven members. With Su Tingyun’s addition, it becomes twelve. She notices there’s still one missing and curiously asks.

“Oh, that would be Elder Yan Shu’s last disciple. He joined later than the rest of us. He’s out recruiting on the Trial Island. You should address him as Little Uncle.”

Currently, there are two at the Golden Core stage in the Obliteration Sword Island—Zhan Yu and the yet-to-be-seen Little Uncle Yan Yuqing. There are nine at the Foundation Establishment stage, which includes everyone except Xiao Budian.

Entering the Trial Island requires a cultivation level of at least Foundation Establishment stage. In other words, they are still short of nine people. The requirements for accepting disciples on the Obliteration Sword Island are quite strict. Can they really recruit nine disciples? Su Tingyun is a bit worried.

“All right, you’ve paid your respects, met everyone. Go talk to your Third Uncle about what kind of iron sword you want. Choose one yourself, and if you have preferences for the width, length, or type of sword, let him know so he can tailor it to you.”

Cang Wu instructs Su Tingyun to pick a sword. When she enters his forging room and sees the multitude of identical iron swords densely arranged, with their hilts protruding like a giant wasp nest, she feels a bit overwhelmed. She randomly selects one to get it over with.

However, as she is about to leave, Su Tingyun suddenly asks, “Can Third Uncle help me forge iron balls?”

“Sure. It’s no trouble. We don’t have much, just a bunch of scrap metal,” Cang Wu says cheerfully. Then, he inquires, “Are you planning to use them as hidden weapons? Do you want them to be marble-sized? Thunderbolt bullets?”

Su Tingyun considers Big Bai’s size, gesturing with her hands to indicate the dimensions. Cang Wu is momentarily surprised.

“Bigger than a person’s head,” he comments.

Su Tingyun chuckles and hesitates before asking, “Would it be alright, Third Uncle?”

“Sure, as I said, we have plenty of scrap metal. Since it’s iron balls you want, you can have as many as you need. I’ll send them to you tomorrow as a meeting gift from Third Uncle. Hope you don’t dislike it. Hehe.”

How could Su Tingyun dislike it? The large iron balls are exactly what she needs. When she goes to the Trial Island in a few days, she plans to visit the Wuliang Sect again and send the balls to Big Bai.

Of course, before that, she needs to figure out a way to get some spirit stones. Otherwise, she won’t even be able to afford the entrance fee for the mountain, of a low-grade spirit stone.

As Su Tingyun leaves Third Uncle’s place, she contemplates refining pills to cleanse impurities for Xiao Budian. However, she currently lacks both an alchemy furnace and medicinal herbs, so she’s somewhat in trouble.

When she brings up her problems with her Master, Su Tingyun sees his smiling face and becomes extremely confused.

“Low-grade medicinal herbs would be manageable. But for the alchemy furnace, let me ask around later,” says Zhan Yu. After saying this, he hastily leaves and returns with a small bag.

“There are ten middle-grade spirit stones inside. It should be enough to buy an alchemy furnace. This is what your sect leader and a uncles pitched in for you, so be a bit thrifty with your spending.”

Why is the Obliteration Sword Tower so poor! Just go hunt a fourth or fifth-grade spirit beast, and you’d easily have some spirit stones. Don’t tell her the cultivators of the Obliteration Sword Tower refrain from killing. Obviously, Master Zhan Yu has stripped Demonic cultivators naked before; the way he did it back there was so skillful.

After their master departs, Xiao Budian speaks up, “It’s because we need to maintain the Cleansing Sword Lake.”

Every day, at least ten high-grade spirit stones are required to sustain the spiritual energy in the Cleansing Sword Lake‘s formation.

“You haven’t seen the bottom of our Cleansing Sword Lake, have you? It’s very pretty.” Here, Xiao Budian’s face finally loses its previous disdainful expression. When talking about the Cleansing Sword Lake, he looks proud. “It’s a sect restricted area only accessible after three years of entry. Junior Sister, work hard to enter it.”

Next, Xiao Budian leads Su Tingyun to her residence. The bamboo dwelling is a bit far from the main hall but quite close to the lake, It’s quite far from the rows of bamboo dwellings over there. Next to it, there’s only a black-painted pavilion, giving off a somewhat heavy vibe.

“That attic next to yours belongs to Little Uncle.” Speaking of Little Uncle, Xiao Budian’s expression turns serious, and he places a hand near his mouth, whispering, “The person you absolutely can’t offend the most in the Obliteration Sword Tower is Little Uncle. That’s why no one wants to live next to him. Junior Sister, I’m reminding you at great risk. You better refine some pills quickly to thank me.”

Su Tingyun turns her head to glance at the dark residence. She feels that the black color is particularly abrupt in the green bamboo forest. At first glance, it seems like a wild beast crouching there, ready to pounce and bite your throat when you’re not paying attention.

A cold wind blows, making Su Tingyun shiver. But she smiles and says, “People who can enter the Obliteration Sword Tower cultivate the righteous energy of the heavens and earth. They’ll just be strict at most. I won’t offend him.”

“No, no, no,” Xiao Budian shakes his head repeatedly. “The Obliteration Sword Tower is divided into two factions. Elder Yan and Little Uncle belong to the ‘Killing to End Killing’ faction. Little Uncle works as an assassin outside, taking on assassination jobs…”

He starts with a serious expression, but as he continues, the tone shifts, “He earns the most spirit stones. The Cleansing Sword Lake is basically supported by him.”

Well, it seems Little Uncle is single-handedly supporting the Obliteration Sword Tower, working hard outside to earn spirit stones. Truly, one shouldn’t offend him!

As they talk, someone shouts, “Yuqing is back!”

As those words fall, Su Tingyun watches Xiao Budian abandoning his playful demeanor. His small face tightens, his body straightening up. The sword he was dangling around is now held properly. Then, he walks towards the lake like in a marching goose-step. Observing his demeanor, Su Tingyun checks herself if anything’s out of place. Once she feels presentable, she respectfully follows towards the lake.

From afar, she sees a sword cultivator dressed in black, an expressionless face, exuding an air of solemn killing intent. Standing there, he resembles the rugged and strange stone in front of the Obliteration Sword Tower. Ignoring his appearance, one can only sense the peaks and ridges, mysterious and awe-inspiring, causing a profound impact.

Once she manages to regain her composure, she notices that the Little Uncle is remarkably handsome, or at least, much better looking than the middle-aged men on the Trial Island.

Yan Yuqing is not alone; he is accompanied by nine people. Among them, five have crossed the Cleansing Sword Lake, while the other four stand on the opposite side of the lake.

Among the five, three are young men at the Foundation Establishment stage, and their appearances are exceptionally ordinary. In the cultivation world, they can be considered quite unattractive. Seeing these three, Su Tingyun feels a sense of camaraderie. This is what normal human faces should look like.

The other two are a boy and a girl, both young children no more than five or six years old. They are exceptionally cute, resembling carved jade. They’re actually are a pair of twins. Looking at these two children, Su Tingyun’s immediate thought is that she might have to cook more in the future. She wonders if the Obliteration Sword Tower still has money to buy spiritual rice.

The two children have a cultivation of the Qi Refinement second layer and did not cross over on floating logs. Instead, Yan Yuqing carries one in each hand. As for the other three, they traverse the floating logs effortlessly, not much slower than Yan Yuqing.

In comparison, Su Tingyun feels a tremendous amount of pressure.

“Nephew Yan Yuqing, you’re amazing. You actually managed to gather enough people. These five have joined the sect, what about the other four?” The one speaking is Elder Fangyuan. He speaks with a smiling expression, resembling a Maitreya Buddha.

“Those four are hired.” Because the number of people isn’t enough, he’s temporarily recruited four wandering cultivators at the Foundation Establishment stage. Everyone had thought of doing this before, but the reason it hadn’t been done was due to a lack of spirit stones.

Upon hearing Yan Yuqing’s words, Elder Fangyuan was momentarily stunned. Subsequently, the smile on his face diminished significantly. The Obliteration Sword Tower’s daily consumption of spirit stones for the Cleansing Sword Lake was already insufficient. They had sold everything they could sell, and now, even the jade stones on the floor inside the main hall had been removed. Where could they get the spirit stones to hire four Foundation Establishment cultivators?

Just then, someone behind Yan Yuqing speaks, “Our boss came up with the spirit stones. He’s Ren Yi, I am Ren Er, and this is Ren San.”

Elder Fangyuan smiles again, “Oh, you three are brothers. He’s the eldest, you’re the second, and this one is the third?”

This, calling the first one ‘boss’ isn’t a big deal; but he doesn’t want these disciples bringing any bandit-like habits to the Obliteration Sword Tower. If they have to address him, they should call him Senior Brother.

However, the person speaking waves his hand repeatedly, “No, no, I’m the third kid.”

You’re the third, then why the heck are you called Ren Er! Yi=1, Er=2, San=3

Everyone wears a speechless expression. Su Tingyun looks at this young man who has a naïve expression, and feels like she might have grasped something.

He probably suits ‘Er’ the most among them. While the cultivation world may not have the term “Er Bi” (idiot, but could be more vulgar), they do have ‘Er leng zi’(stupid) as a swear!

Ren Yi and Ren San: “Hehe.”

Bai Su scans the entire island. One glance and he could perceive everything in the place, nothing can escape his eyes. There’s nothing noteworthy about this small island, but the only thing that catches his attention in the Obliteration Sword Tower is the seal at the bottom of the Cleansing Sword Lake.

The sword cultivation in the Obliteration Sword Tower shares similarities with the lost art of cultivating evil, and that Seal has similarities with the Sealed Heaven Border. He wonders if there is some connection.

If he can uncover the truth, being in this Realm won’t be considered a total loss.

    Chapter 61: Entrance Test

Because it’s night, Su Tingyun hasn’t paid much attention to the surroundings. She only senses that they’ve been flying for a while, and when the sky starts getting bright, the flying sword descends, avoiding the trees. They have entered a forest.

“Are we there already?” Su Tingyun looks around, but she doesn’t see any trace of a Sect. The surroundings are desolate hills and wild ridges. There’s not even a small hut, let alone a sect.

“Not yet, not yet.” Zhan Yu jumps off the flying sword, pulls some wild vegetables under a nearby big tree, and picks a few mushrooms.

“This is purslane; it’s edible, but with a sour taste, and it also has anti-inflammatory properties.” Zhan Yu cheerfully explains, waving the things in his hand as he gets back on the sword, giving Su Tingyun some information.

“Eat?” Su Tingyun is momentarily stunned, then she remembers that Xiao Budian is only in the Qi Refinement period, and has not yet entered the period of fasting. He indeed needs to eat. However, is the Obliteration Sword Tower so impoverished that the only new disciple has to forage for wild vegetables?

Xiao Budian is still so young, his body is still growing.

Su Tingyun suddenly understands why Xiao Budian has so many grievances with the sect. This is just too bizarrely poor.

After a moment of thought, she says, “Eating only wild vegetables won’t do. We should at least have some meat. Let’s hunt some edible spirit beasts.”

“Sure, it’s possible, but meat is too greasy. Even the meat of low-level spirit beasts can easily accumulate impurities in the body, which is not conducive to the circulation of spiritual energy in the future, affecting aptitude,” Zhan Yu says with a serious expression. “The meat of high-level spirit beasts doesn’t have this drawback, but it’s hard to come by. Besides, you can sell the meat of high-level spirit beasts for spirit stones.”

Su Tingyun is familiar with this reasoning. Back when she was with Xiao Mei and the others at the foot of the Wuliang Mountain, hunting low-level spirit beasts for spirit stones, she was the only one who often ate meat. The other two occasionally had some, while Xiao Mei basically avoided any hint of meat.

What did they say back then?

‘It seems Granny had taken a Pill like the White Jade Dew, so eating some meat isn’t a big deal for her.’ In other words, Pills could offset this issue.

In the jade slip that Liu Feizhou gave her, there were quite a few Pill formulas. She had thoroughly researched them over the years, and she has basically memorized them all. While the White Jade Dew wasn’t there, there’s another Pill with a similar function of removing impurities from the body. The one Liu Feizhou wrote about is called the Purification Pill. Judging by the name, it’s probably a bit lower in grade than White Jade Dew.

But she can’t be sure. Since knowing that Chu Ling was just a maid, Su Tingyun has always felt that White Jade Dew might not be as great as she imagined.

“Isn’t there a Pill that can remove these impurities?” Su Tingyun says. As soon as she says it, she regrets it.

Zhan Yu awkwardly scratches his head, and Xiao Budian pouts and snorts.

There might be Pills for that, but this sect, which is so poor it can barely make ends meet, probably can’t afford them.

“Since we’re going to formally accept you as a disciple, we need to return to the sect first before going to the Trial Island. Anyway, no one has unraveled the secrets of the Trial Island’s Immortal Palace, and there’s no need to rush during these past two days.”

Not long after the flying sword takes off into the sky, Su Tingyun sees a wild pheasant in the distance. She immediately uses the Golden Thunder Technique to bring it down. She asks Zhan Yu to collect the wild pheasant, saying, “Once we get there, I’ll make a pheasant stew with mushrooms for you.”

Xiao Budian’s eyes light up, but then he shakes his head. “I can’t eat meat.”

Su Tingyun pats his shoulder. “I can refine Pills.”

As soon as she says this, even the flying sword shudders, almost throwing everyone off balance. Zhan Yu’s voice trembles, “Did I hear it wrong? Did you say you have Pills?”

“No, I said I can refine Pills.” as Su Tingyun speaks, she holds her head high and puffs chest out. The fact that her abilities are valued by others, especially by people she currently thinks are good people, makes her feel proud. In this world, whether someone is good or bad isn’t written on their faces, but the presence or absence of malicious intent in the soul can be detected, especially if the difference in cultivation is not too vast— Su Tingyun is currently in the Foundation Establishment stage, with her primordial spirit close to the Golden Core stage. Even after stating that she can refine pills, she doesn’t sense a trace of malicious intent.

On Su Tingyun’s person, there are only a few Pills, but they were refined in a makeshift pill furnace made from stones, back in the Sealed Heaven. They have no relation to purging impurities from the body, and due to the limited conditions, their quality is average. She doesn’t showcase them at the moment.

“Then what level of alchemy master are you?” When speaking, Zhan Yu unintentionally addresses her with an honorific, but after the words leave his mouth, he catches it and frowns, saying, “Well, then, what’s your alchemy grade? Let Master understand more about you, so he can better guide you according to your actual skills in the future.”

“Second grade, I guess.” When asked about the level, Su Tingyun feels a bit indifferent. In the past, due to her cultivation being insufficient, she could only refine first-grade pills. Occasionally, she would manage to improve a Pill recipe to produce second-grade pills, so she could be considered a second-grade alchemy master. However, now that she’s in the Foundation Establishment stage, if the conditions permit it, she is confident in attempting higher-grade pills.

Thinking that Zhan Yu and the others would be disappointed, Su Tingyun is surprised to find them quite happy. Zhan Yu and Xiao Budian express their joy, with Zhan Yu saying, “You’re only in the early Foundation Establishment stage, so I thought you were just an outer disciple of an alchemist. I didn’t expect you could already refine Pills.” After speaking, Zhan Yu playfully sticks out his tongue. He looks directly at Su Tingyun and says, “Since you’re an alchemist, it means you’ve already accepted a master.”

Su Tingyun waves her hands repeatedly, “No, no, I haven’t. A fellow alchemist gave me his insights on alchemy in a jade slip, and I figured it out on my own.”

At this point, Su Tingyun nervously asks, “Liu Feizhou, Master Liu. He’s able to refine fifth-grade pills ten years ago. Have you heard of this person?”

Zhan Yu and Xiao Budian both shake their heads. The Obliteration Sword Tower is so poor that it’s impossible for them to have dealings with alchemists. However, Zhan Yu pats Su Tingyun on the shoulder, saying, “Master Liu must be very important to you. He treated you so well.”

“Huh?” Su Tingyun is a bit stunned. While it’s true that Liu Feizhou saved her at a critical moment, she wonders how Zhan Yu came to such a conclusion based on just what she said.

“Alchemists have a very high status in the cultivation world. Their pill recipes are closely guarded secrets, and even low-level ones are quite valuable. Not to mention the insights into alchemy. Even direct disciples may not necessarily receive the alchemist’s personal experiences.”

Seeing Su Tingyun still dazed, Zhan Yu understands that she probably has no idea how valuable the jade slip is. Therefore, he solemnly reminds her, “Kindness should be repaid with even greater kindness. We disciples of the Obliteration Sword Tower value gratitude and righteousness. In the future, when you meet this master, you should try to repay the favor as much as possible.”

“Junior Sister, why don’t you offer yourself to him?” Xiao Budian says enthusiastically, only to get a knock on the head from Zhan Yu. He looks at Su Tingyun with some concern and adds, “Don’t let your thoughts run wild.”

    Su Tingyun: “…”

That hesitant expression seems to say, ‘You look like this, and it’s beyond your reach!‘ But she also gave Liu Feizhou a jade slip of insights in return. Su Tingyun thinks she provided a much more refined and practical contribution compared to Liu Feizhou’s chaotic and disorganized notes.

Despite thinking this way, Su Tingyun still feels grateful. However, she has no idea where Liu Feizhou is or whether he’s still alive.

How great would it be if she could encounter the rumored all-knowing and all-powerful Qianji Pavilion? She‘ll continue to save spirit stones, just in case she encounters them in the future and can buy the cost of information.

After flying for half a day, they finally arrive at the Obliteration Sword Tower.

Surprisingly, the Obliteration Sword Tower is not located on the mountain but on a small island in the center of a lake. The lake water is crystal clear, and the island is covered with a green bamboo forest. In the forest, there are three to five pavilions, and in the center stands a grand palace. In front of the palace gate, there is a black strange stone with the engraved words “Obliteration Sword Tower.”

The three characters appear to be carved from a sword, with iron strokes and silver hooks displaying a vigorous and powerful style. It seems as if a spirited horse is soaring through the sky, leaving all in its dust, or like a dragon diving into the sea, causing waves to crash and roll. Staring at these three characters for a long time, Su Tingyun feels as if she’s standing at the summit of a mountain, able to overlook everything below. She wishes she could shout aloud to express the emotions in her heart.

When she comes back to her senses, she sees that Zhan Yu and Xiao Budian are both smiling at her.

“My judgment was indeed correct. If someone with ill intentions sees the characters carved by our ancestral master and feels the sword intent within, their soul will surely be damaged,” Zhan Yu remarks.

Su Tingyun just chuckles in response, choosing not to say anything.

“To ascend the Wuliang Sect’s mountain, you need to climb the Heavenly Stairs. We at the Obliteration Sword Tower have our own rules. We can’t fly over the Cleansing Sword Lake; we walk on the water,” Zhan Yu declares.

With that, Zhan Yu lightly steps onto the surface of the lake. Su Tingyun is surprised to see that there are numerous flying swords beneath the lake. As Zhan Yu’s toe touches the water, a flying sword shoots up from the lake bottom, forming a stepping stone beneath his feet. He strolls casually, and the flying swords emerge from the lake, creating a path leading to the heart of the lake where the bamboo island is.

“That’s Master’s path of sword cultivation,” Xiao Budian remarks. After saying this, he gives Su Tingyun a glance. “Look at mine.” With that, he also leaps into the lake, landing securely on a sword that emerges from the lake bottom.

Then, he swiftly rides that sword across. Although this method should be much less labor-intensive, he can’t match Zhan Yu’s speed and ends up being left far behind.

Su Tingyun uses her Wind Control Technique to land on the lake’s surface.

“Yun-lass, you haven’t started cultivating your sword yet. Do you see those floating logs over there? Walk on them,” Zhan Yu advises.

    Su Tingyun: “…”

Nevertheless, Su Tingyun goes ahead and steps on the floating logs. However, she soon realizes that despite it supposedly requiring minimal effort, perhaps due to the formation in the Cleansing Sword Lake, each step becomes unusually difficult. In no time, she’s drenched in sweat, with beads forming on the tip of her nose.

    Is this another entrance test?

For a sect on the verge of collapse due to poverty, it’s surprising to have so many methods. No wonder they can’t attract many disciples. However, Su Tingyun still likes such a place.

She has a faint anticipation for the upcoming cultivation life. Of course, the most important thing, something she will not forget, is that she won’t blindly evade and hide. She won’t solely think about returning to the mortal world for a comfortable life due to her poor aptitude. She wants to grow, overcome obstacles one step at a time, and protect those who are worthy of her best efforts.

Finally reaching the island, Su Tingyun is panting heavily, too exhausted even to lift her fingers. The moment she steps onto the island, she feels a dizzying sensation. When she opens her eyes again, she sees a fire with a large iron pot hanging over it.

There’s a middle-aged man in a blue gown, with rolled-up pants and grass shoes. He smiles and says, “Yun-lass, was it? The pot is ready; we’re just waiting for you to start cooking.”

    Su Tingyun: “…”

Internally, she has a lot of sarcastic comments to vomit out.

Did she walk into the wrong set? She was just a spirited warrior-hero a moment ago, and now she seems to have transformed into a character from a countryside farm simulator!
